Wow.  Generally, I’m not one who gets impressed by luxury and opulence, but I must admit that I have a weak spot for crystal clear water and clean sandy beaches.  This spa has that and much, much more.  It is the W Retreat and Spa on Fesdu Island in the Maldives, and as far as I can tell, it’s about as close to heaven on Earth as you’re going to get. I’ve never been to a spa, not even a less-than-reputable strip...

Graphic designer and artist Florian Nicolle created these awesome collage / illustration / watercolor works.  The textures in these paintings are too much – but in a good way.  Instead of muddling the works, the textures actually enhance them, giving them a sense of depth and in some cases desperation. These masterful pieces are great examples of how to be heavy-handed with layers of color and content in a way that adds to an image...

These rope sculptures were done by artist Mozart Guerra out of France, and they’re really impressive.  You don’t typically think of rope when you think of sculpture art, but somehow he really makes it work.  The pieces incorporating different colored rope are particularly compelling, the way the different colors stripe them and give them a strange sort of contrast.
