Futuristic products, as envisioned in 1944 (16 images)

I found this great photo series featuring futuristic product designs / predictions from the Industrial Design Show in March of 1944.  It’s strange to look back at how people envisioned the future, in terms of trying to predict future technologies using the technology of the time as a guide.  Everything looks a bit George-Jetsony, and they generally overestimated how much glass would be used in vehicle designs, but really, they were halfway on the right track in terms of concepts.

Things like this somehow manage to make me nostalgic about a time period more than 40 years before I was born.  I could look at this stuff all day.
