SOPA
The Drafting Club is proud to have joined the stance against the SOPA / PIPA bill that was being debated in congress in late 2011 and early 2012 by working with the official stopSOPA.com and designing the graphic for their landing page. The website received thousands of hits in its first couple of days, and continued to receive thousands more until recently when it went down for maintenance.
While online piracy is a very real problem, we stand alongside hundreds of other companies such as Google, Wikipedia, Facebook, PayPal, and Twitter in believing that the bill could be used as an excuse to censor the internet and much of what people love about the online experience. You can read more about SOPA / PIPA here, and decide for yourself.
It looks like the petitions and negative feedback from both the online and offline communities is working for the moment, as the bill has been indefinitely postponed.
As mentioned before, the site is currently down for maintenance, but check back soon and in the meantime you can sign this online petition to voice your opposition to this dangerous bill.
