A font that helps dyslexics read (1 video)

Here is a great example of how design can literally change people’s lives:  Dutch graphic designer Christian Boer developed a font titled Dyslexie that aims to help minimize reading troubles for those who suffer from dyslexia.  Boer himself suffers from dyslexia, and set out to design a typeface that would make reading easier for others with the condition.

It’s a rather inspiring story, and shows how design principles can be used for more than simply making company mailing envelopes look more aesthetically pleasing.  Plus the font is actually kind of cool.
